Today, I took the test to become a "communications call-taker" at a police station. The job is answering police calls but not Actually responding to them like a dispacher does. It pays a little over $28k a year. It's a start for a kid who is fresh out of high school. The test was very easy. If you know 2+2, you're fine. There were a lot of older people taking this test today. People in their mid 30s to early 50s. I felt like I was the only spring chicken in the room taking this 50 question test. I have to get a 70 or better to get the interview. The test instructor was somewhat humorous telling the people the past experiences they had with this position. When people passed the test and did the interview, the people were dropping like flies because of their background check. Oops, sorry for them. I have a clean slate on my records plus school records. The odds of getting this job is very, very good.
I still have a gripe about the back windows tint. As I was coming home from taking the test, everything was blurry and all I saw was bright, white, blurry lights. Lisa said she paid $150 for the tint they did on her car. [it's a Taurus] I need mine removed and redone. It has to be more than 150 bucks for that job. Plus, I need to get the missing button on the radio [the treble button]. I found out I DO have automatic headlights besides daytime running lights. My car is SO better than Mom's Taurus.
