What an eventful day today was. I woke up at 8:30am to watch the press conference with Dale Jr and seeing the bandages wrapped around his neck and some of the open wounds on his face made me hurt alot. The pain he was in just sitting there and how he looked [like shit, BTW] just wanted me to change the channel but I couldn't. The stuff he said is pretty much what everyone knows or what we were predicting that might happened. I just wanted to tune in because I wanted to see how he is. Taking him off the medication is definitely showing because he was in pain from my view...
Martin was going to practice, qualify and somewhat race the car according to what they said. It was very odd to see him in Jr's uniform. I thought he would wear his own [Bass Pro Shops, KFC, etc.] but he wore Jr's. Red isn't your color, babe. And the oddest thing was, was watching him qualify Jr's car. Jr's red #8 Bud Chevy around the track with rookie stripes on the bumper [not cool but funny to see] driven by someone else was weird. But, [yes but] he drove the wheels off of that car and I was just grinning from ear to ear when he was giving Jimmie Johnson a run for his money. They boy qualified the car 2nd! [then 3rd cause of Newman] I was just totally shocked and was just proud of him. Cannot wait for him to get his own cup car soon. Gotta look out for that kid!! Well, when they interviewed him, he was just grinning as much as I was and he said he was just "ecstatic" [my word, yay!] to drive that car. I was ecstatic when I was at Daytona no where near him! LOL

"I made a lot of friends, I found out I had some people who were closer friends of mine than I even anticipated. I even found out I had a few enemies, too." - Dale Jr on the people around him.
Jimmie Johnson is one of them. [I think] He had said some stuff on
NASCAR.com about the situation about Jr and how other drivers should be dedicated to their own racing team and not jump into other racing stuff. Just read the dumb article. Racing is a passion, not a job. He's only a "Jeffy Jr."
Marty Smith from NASCAR.com has written a very nice article about the quote above. Brilliant article!
Good Luck Martin this weekend! Give 'em a run for their money :D
