9/11

Where were you on 9/11?

I was in Geometry class during 2nd block around 9am waiting for the school announcements (we had a TV crew and stuff) and it was on the Headline News channel. We'll cut off from it and do the morning announcemnts. (I hope you understood what I was saying there) Well, we had on Headline News waiting for the announcements and they said that a plane hit tower 1 on the WTC. I said to myself 'How in the hell can a plane hit the tallest building in NYC?' and then the morning announcemnts came on and blah, blah, blah. Then it was back to Headline News and then they kept talking about tower 1 and the smoke and fire coming out of it and then we saw this plane come and hit the second tower. I was in just complete shock and stunned. I started to shake a bit and holding back tears seeing this all come about. Then there was a news report saying that the pentagon might have got hit but no confirmed reports. After awhile, they show footage of the pentagon on fire and damaged. People were running around. I mean ladies in heels running barefoot! Then they switched back and we saw tower 1 collapse. (I beleave that was the one) The debris, ash, smoke and people running was just horrifying. It looked like something from a movie but it was happening in real life and live across the world. Throughout the day, the classrooms had the TV on just watching updates and everything. We had discussions about the situation and everything. When I came home from school, the radio was talking about it and playing this real sad songs over the radio. One of them was Brandy but couldn't remember the name of the song.

My friend, Pricilla, was crying because some of her relatives were in Lebannon to see family and she didn't know when they would come back because of the location of the country (Near Iran I beleave) and everything going on in the states.

Everything on TV was just the news and the whole topic was the WTC and seeing the video loop over and over again. It was hard to find anything on TV without the news. That's why Nickelodeon's Sponge Bob Square Pants on 5pm ET was the #1 show during the 9/11 post TV. That was the only thing that was positive to watch.
