We lost electricity at 9:30am and never saw it again. We pretty much stayed in the patio watching brief gusts of wind and misty rain coming down. I took two pictures today -- one of the palm tree blowing in the air by my patio and the second was a tree waiting to crash on my car any moment blowing in the wind. Never saw any sunshine at all. Just clouds moving at a rapid pace bringing good short gusts in the afternoon and light rain. I got bored and wanted to take a scenery tour of my community I live in. [condos] I took Dad and them Mom to look around. Alot of leaves and twigs all over the ground. I saw a tree on top of a car damaging the back window. The owner put plastic over it and hope no water leaks in. I drove around the townhomes and saw a tree snapped from it's trunk laying in the middle of the road. Then, just seen some branches broken off and that's it. No damage to homes yet. I peeked down Lyons to see if any traffic. Only counted 4 cars and 1 cop. Went back home and my little adventure was over.
I called up Lisa and the crew to see how they are doing. They lost power and currently running off a generator feeding the fridge and the tv. No major flooding and same weather conditions by me. Later on I got a call from my Aunt and she has electric...
Still no electric by dinner time so we put the gas grill's side burner on. We ate chicken noodle from the can, cooked scrambled eggs and tuna. Very typical hurricane food. Yum!
When you get bored, you get sleepy. Tried to take a catnap but failed. Too noisy. When all is dead around you, neighbors like to talk in higher decibels...Shhhhh....
Current conditions at 11:54pm - Very windy of gusts around 40 mph [just guessing] and very hard rain. Just listened to 87.7 NBC 6 on the radio the whole time today on weather updates. I would pay to see live radar and video footage around me. She's expected to land [eye] around the Melbourne, Ft. Pierce, Palm Beach area. Hearing reports of mobile homes gone up there. Sucks, yo. Broward County has 312,000 without electric. Fun.
Jesus, it sounds like a tornado is outside my window. The wind is just blowing on the hurricane shutters. Very Scary. No deaths which is a good thing.
Safe and sound at 12:02am Sunday.
Anyone heard race updates from Fontana?
