Today I went for the interview. I wasn't nervous at all but the woman who was waiting for the interview as I was, was sweating bullets. We were talking about the job and she said that she has done clerical work and assumes this was it. It wasn't. It's a dispatcher job. I was telling her about my experience with the dispatcher trainee job a couple of months ago and she said that I could have a shot of getting the job. She came out in 10 min or so. She said "Good Luck" and I replied with a "thanks" and a smile. I went and did the interview and asked me very generic questions. One the questions was "Do you regret anything you did in life?" My answer: "I don't regret anything I've done in life." Score points for me. Then they were asking computer related questions. More score points for me. After all said and done, they said they will send a letter on how I stand in the interview. I said OK and shrugged it off. If they want me, OK. If not, oh well. I did mention my other trainee experience so they might call the other police station about my status. There was another older woman there as well. I didn't speak to her or anything but when I left, she muttered "That was quick." Shrugged that off and moved on.
The AD in the newspaper might of been deceiving. Like I said in my previous writings, there were a lot of older people and I felt like I was the only spring chicken. This is a dispatcher job. There is so much pressure and understanding to process in a short period of time, I don't know if these people can handle it. I know that woman I was talking to didn't have a wing and a prayer. Than again, I can be wrong...

Smoke backs up Junior. Since Smoke is the rebel, bad boy of NASCAR, he spoke out in this Q&A. Some interesting points in the interview: "...And the last time I checked, we had freedom of speech, correct? Since when has that changed now? I didn't know the Constitution changed in the last couple of weeks. What he said didn't cheat anybody on the race track. It didn't have any affect on how the race was run..." and "...This has a real chance of impacting the championship and if he were to lose the championship by less than 25 points, I would hide all sharp objects from him. I can promise you, you'd have to from me."
More JR love from Smoke

I upgraded to SP2 last night. All is well for my computer. Nothing crashed, thank God. It took up a good chunk of hard disk space tho. I'm thinking up upgrading to 1 gig of memory. Another 512MB and all is faster I hope.
