After the race, Jim Hunter, NASCAR spokesperson, made an announcement that the FCC has lost contact with Rick Hendrick's plane in route to Martinsville, Virginia. The plane crashed outside of Martinsville and apparently there are no survivors. I had cold chills when I heard about this after the race. Prayers to Hendrick's family and those on the plane. Jimmie Johnson won the race today which totally sucks in this event.

Today is Brian Vickers 21st birthday. He was real close with Ricky Hendrick [died in the crash] and his car owner.

It's like a mirror image three years ago when we heard that Dale Earnhardt died in the last laps at the Daytona 500. Michael Waltrip won that day. It was his very first win with DEI and as a driver.
