I think I should declare myself as bad luck.
On lap 9, they were going five wide into turn three. Martin is on the outside with Newman, Shrub and two other people [can't think but it could be Edwards and Vickers] and Shrub gets loose, goes right and into Martin into the wall. This was the big one of the day since nothing else huge happened. Kasey got the wind knocked out of him and the FOX peeps said they took him to the hospital. I was like What?! but then they corrected and said infield car center. Phew!
Lap 22, Junior takes the lead. The crowd roared and the "Grandstands are vibrating" according to Jr's spotter. When they were ready to interview Martin on TV, Martin asked "Did JR take the lead?" haha who else?! Martin tried to come back out but couldn't.
Somewhere later on in the race, Jr's nose was getting dicey to where he spun out and didn't hit anything. [except for Tony's nose but that was nothing]
Later on after a commercial break, caution is out. Jr blown up...
NOT what I wanted to hear. Dad and I wanted to see that car in victory lane! Called him up with race updates and told him about that. Not too happy. From how Jr sounded during the interview, he wasn't happy with the car at all. He wanted the car lead, the crew wanted the car to pass and draft. Crew won. Somethin' isn't right and that's all I have to say.
Jimmie Johnson won. BLAH!
In other news...
I forgot to post a quote from JR about the new, soft bumper this weekend.
DO YOU THINK THESE SOFT BUMPERS ARE GOING TO HAVE ANY KIND OF IMPACT ON THE RACE SUNDAY? "I don't know. I used mine and it works just fine (laughter)."
Also, I forgot the shout-out Martin gave to the fan club. Woot woot! True class act.
