Day 3 was a lot better for teams and got enough information to work on some stuff.
Morning times were single car runs and the #20 car is first then, Sterling Martin, Jaime Mac, Jeff Green and Jimmie Johnson.
Afternoon times were drafting and more cars were in the pack. Fastest was Jeff Green then, DJ, Tony Raines, Scott Riggs, and the #7 car.
Kerry was sub-ing for Junior and his times were mixed but nothing near was Junior was running.
Martin finally found some speed today especially in the draft in 9th.
Kasey was good in the draft but still slow.
AJ Allmendinger ran a few laps in the #83 just to get the jitters out of him for next week. Times are still mixed.
Overall, Chevy has been very dominant this test session this week. Toyota is still finding speed but more of how the car handles and feels. Dodges aren't doing so good either. Ford has been up there with Jamie Mac leading everyone.
Good article on
Jamie Mac finding a crew chief over the off season. Maybe that's why he's doing good this week?
Very good article about
Kerry's new job at DEI. Glad they are utilizing him for something!
