Talk about an eventful day at Daytona. Everyone is hitting the wall due to the winds. But, all the talk in the garage area was Mickey's car and what NASCAR was going to do.
With Evernham's penalties, he won't appeal Kasey's because that might be intentional. As for the 10 and 19, he is going to appeal because the infraction lies within the gray area of the rule book. Good luck with that.
With Kenseth, Jack Roush won't appeal either. I guess they really need their crew chiefs at Bristol for the COT.
As for Mickey, his crew chief is suspended indefinitely. Crew chief fined $100k. 100 Points fined. 12-4-a actions detrimental to stock car racing, 12-4-q car, car parts components and/or equipment not conforming to nascar rules, 20-15-4.2c gasoline must not be blended with alcohols, ethers, or other oxygenates. He's going to run in the duels with a back-up car from teammate David Rutemann.
My response, HOLY SHIZNIT!!!!! This makes Chad Kanus look like a saint. Damn Mikey, I didn't know you were that much in a hole to make the 500. You're lucky he gets to run this year!
I came home late for dinner and Dad said they [the news] said the substance was jet fuel. I laughed so hard on that one. Then we talked about all the stuff going on around NASCAR until 3pm when I had to go to work.
Now as for Junior, all smiles!! He is very happy with the car!!
In other nascar news...
Power rankings are up and Jamie Mac's made me think about good 'ol BP
I certainly wish Benny Parsons was around to say "MacMary" this year. I hope that the memory of B.P and Bobby Hamilton is honored on Sunday during the pre-race. With the suspensions and Toyota debut, I fear this story will get lost in the shuffle.
HAHA, damn I miss him already. :(
