Tony won at the Brickyard for the second time in his career. It was around 20 to go when him and Harvick was racing really good. Tony was over the radio getting close to Harvick and said "Here kitty, kitty, kitty" and he did catch him. Tony had a great car today and showed it on TV. He was on the front stretch during the closing laps, took his hands off the steering wheel and took a good gulp from his water bottle. Now talk about a good handling car. At the end, the entire crew climbs the fence with Tony. The best part of his interview on ESPN, he dedicated this win to the fans with a 25 point word.
"This one's for everyone of those fans in the stands that pull for me every week and take all the bull shit from everybody else."
sigh.
Junior did really well in the opening laps of the race to the point he was leading for awhile. Some mid race strategy killed his momentum and fell out of the top 10 for a bit. When he made it back in the top 5 with 25 to go, the engine blew. WTF!!! I think Teresa is giving him bad stuff cause he won't be driving for her next year.
I have to give props to ESPN for a job well done. People complain about DW yapping, Bill Webber yapping too much [I agree!!] and now I have to complain about Rusty Wallace yapping WAY too much. It's good to hear Dr. Jerry Punch's voice throughout the race. Brings back good memories. One thing I do have to say is their draft vision thing. They need to work that sucker during Talladega. THAT'S where you will see how the air works. If they do use that thing at Bristol, they are morons. They kept showing it during the race to see how dirty air plays a factor. It was informative but not exciting.
In other racing news...
Toyota won their first race in NASCAR but in the Busch series. Jason Leffler won at IRP [actually its ORP but...] Saturday night. woot!
