This Easter weekend was very eventful and stress full to say the least. It started Friday when I was having problems with my DVR [2nd tuner was acting up] and after I did a hard reset, the TV didn't want to work. After an hour and numerous tech support, they fixed it on their end around 11am Saturday. Comcast had a time issue on their end and and somehow it disabled my DVR.
Now that cable is back to normal, the 37" Polaroid we got in Dec. 06 died. Mom shut the TV off sometime after 12pm when no one was watching it. When Dad finished washing the porch, he tried to turn on the TV and nothing. I unplugged it and a picture came on but a really loud buzzing came on and I immediately shut the TV off fearing it will blow up. I tried to turn it back on and no picture. I called Circuit City since I took out the extended warranty and a service guy came out today. He talked to Mom since I was trying to leave the store and when I got home, he left. Mom said that the control box is gone and a replacement is going to come in. That's all for now.
On
Circuit City's website, they have a 40" for $899 with the worst reviews. Everyone pretty much said the same thing I'm going thru right now. But I cannot complain or say anything bad about it. This TV produced a wonderful picture with no problems at all until now. Thank god I took out the extended warranty because for a $1,000 Tv, I don't want it to be a really big paper weight. If they cannot fix it, the replacement will most likely be the 40" Sony Bravia
KDL-40V2500 or the newer replacement
KDL-40V3000.
